This is Cubs baseball

Sorry for the lack of fresh content from me in the past two weeks, but it is been crazy. I hope to annouce some exciting news in the next couple of days, but we will see if it happens. I was back in Alabama during Labor Day with my brother and we saw a few games.
I want to go on record and say it is important that we finish .500 or better. I just cannot take losing and it would be nice to have three years of above .500 baseball. There are no delusions of playoffs, but just solid baseball from Matt Murton and company would be nice and to pick up Greg Maddux's 15th win.
Until tomorrow enjoy today's win.

What a Rusch

Glendon Rush had a perfect game going into the 7th inning, before David Eckstein lead off the 7th with a single up the middle. My inital reaction to his performance was very highly rated. To pitch the way he did against a super offensive charged Cardinals team is phenomenal. He hit his spots consistantly during the perfect game run.

After thinking after the game was finally over about Rusch's performance, I begin to think "What happens next?" Will Glendon be back next season? And if so, what will his role be?

My inital thinking is that Glendon will be back with the Cubs next season, as the long reliever/spot starter. I think its the only role for Rusch on this team. He couldnt do it as a middle reliever, and hasn't been as good as last season in the rotation, although he did start off well. It will be an interesting off-season to say the least.

Cub Fans - You Sicken Me

Did my title catch your attention? I hope so. The "great and loyal" Cub fans have really pissed me off as of late. I'm almost glad that their season has turned out so bad, because now all of the bandwagon fans and blogs have started to disappear, and the Cubs can finalyl see who their loyal fans are.

Over the past week, I have started seeing some of my favorite blogs having new stories every day. Its funny, I thought the Cubs last game was on October 2nd.

I guess I can understand to a certain point with the Cubs being for the most part out of the playoff race, even though technically a small glimer of hope is still present as its not official that they are out of the race, they just have to win every game for the rest of the year. Now I know that wont happen, and they are out of the race, but that doesn't mean I have to stop watching, or reading about the Cubs. I dont give up when my team isnt going to be playing into October after the regular season is over. Everyone else has just threw in their towl and will wait til the season is actually over before getting either moving to a new team in the offseason, or they will start re-pledging their "love" for the Cubs.

Don't be fooled Chicago Cubs. They are all phonies. I am still here for you though. And I always will be, even if you go 0-162.
